This years tutor will be Mr. Toby Hobson, of the Fodens Richardson Band, which maintains a world class reputation for providing quality entertainment in the field of brass music.
Mr. Hobson, studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and joined the Fodens Richardson Band in 1993. During his time with the Band, he performed under such great conductors like Howard Snell, Bramwell Tovey, Gary Cutt and others.
He played with the Band when they won the U.S. open Championships in 2003, and the British Open Championships in 2004.
In July 2005 Toby resigned his position in the Band due to increased work and conducting commitments.
Workshop
The workshop will commence at 8 p.m on Thursday 27th October, and sessions will continue through the day on Friday and Saturday.

Concert
A free Concert will take place on Sunday 30th of October at 5pm in the Augustinian Church, Shop Street, to make the conclusion of the course, and to showcase the work achieved.

Toby Hobson
Toby was born in 1972 in Bedfordshire, but at the age of two moved to
Gosforth in Cumbria. He didn't start to play the Tuba until he was fifteen
after a fairly unproductive attempt at learning the trumpet! With the Tuba
being an in demand instrument, all his (and his parents) spare time was soon
spent travelling around the north of England playing in various ensembles
from symphony orchestras to folk bands. However, his first love was the brass
band.
Toby joined the Flimby Saxhorn Silver band in 1988 and was soon regularly
