A statue commemorating the Naval officer Thomas Charles Wright will be unveiled in Drogheda on July 14th at the North Quay.
Thomas Charles Wright was born in Drogheda in 1799 and after a significant naval service in South America. He became the Founding father of the Ecuadorian Navy.
The Lourdes Band will be participating in honouring the Drogheda mans achievements at Millmount (1pm) and at the Statue unveiling on the North Quay (3pm).
The Lourdes Brass Band will take to the Bray promenade and perform on the Bray Bandstand. As ever this promises to be a delightful event set to the spectacular scenery of the sea front with the Dublin mountains as a stunning backdrop. Both the Lourdes Youth and Senior Bands will display their musical talents to the public, who only have to pull up a deck chair and relax.
The Lourdes Band will be holding our 2018 Music Master classes in the Bandroom on Batchelors Lane . The Lourdes Band has secured the services of the internationally renowned Tuba player Mr Les Neish to lead the Bands Master Classes on Monday the 16th July. The classes will be held in the evening time and will be provided to both the Senior Band and LYB.

Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, will be the venue for the Lourdes Brass Band. Our Senior and Youth Band will once again be providing the entertainment on this Bank Holiday weekend. As always we really look forward to allowing the audience to sit back and be entertained.
The Collon Garden Fete has been re-arranged for Saturday 1st September. The Lourdes Band are delighted to be invited to provide the entertainment again this year. As ever we look forward to this garden Fete and the great hospitality and warm welcome we always receive. All in attendance will be treated to music form the Lourdes Senior Band, The Lourdes Youth Band and we hope to bring our Lourdes "School of Music" students on their debutant public performance.
The Lourdes Brass Band has been granted a permit to hold our Flag Day, Street collection on Thursday 21st June. We more than ever rely on the generosity of the people of Drogheda, to enable us operate a voluntary organisation which delivers entertainment and musical education to the whole community.

Bank Holiday Monday will see both the Lourdes Senior and Lourdes Youth Band performing in the beautiful gardens of Beaulieu House. As always the idyllic setting is perfect for a relaxing family day and enjoying the Beaulieu Beautiful Sounds Drogheda Arts Festival.
Our Church gate collection is this Sunday. We are a voluntary organisation who strive to serve our community. We would ask our members, friends, supporters and the public to please show us the generosity you have always supported us with. Without your years of kindness we simply could not exist.
